Multiplayer Brawl

February 23 @ 14:00 - 18:00

no cost
Casual and Formal Multiplayer Brawl games, at Hareruya Akihabara
We expect to play several casual matches, allowing deck changes, changes to cards and a few proxies, probably with formal time keeping, followed by more formal matches. These are the formal rules, match points and timing we’ll use for those games.Newcomers are always welcome to join us and shouldn’t worry about needing to build their own Brawl deck – we always have plenty of spare decks in both English and Japanese to lend.
Some of the fine, upstanding residents of Tokyo sharing a dignified game of cards together.

Brawl Format

Brawl is a multiplayer Commander variant using 60-card decks from the Standard format. https://magic.wizards.com/en/game-info/gameplay/formats/brawl https://whatsinstandard.com

Cost to play Brawl

The cost of a competitive Brawl deck starts at around $50, and because it’s a singleton format, it’s very difficult for costs to exceed about $150, so the notorious pay-to-play aspect of MTG is nicely managed. As a rough guide, mono-colour decks are the cheapest, and multi-colour decks more expensive.

Covid-19 Precautions

All players are required to comply with the following restrictions, some of which are required by local bye-law, thank you
  • please do not attend if you feel in the least bit unwell in any way
  • disinfect your hands upon entering the building
  • wear a surgical mask for the duration of our games
  • should you need to cough or sneeze normally, please show extra consideration
