Miyashita Park Skatepark, a short walk from the famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing is a postage-stamp sized facility for Tokyo skaters looking to ride some convenient transition.
There’s most obvious feature is this snake run which has both roll-in lips and some that are sharper, though they’re not very suitable for grinding, and a section that’s fully vertical and air-able.
The main feature is a fairly mellow keyhole bowl that isn’t obvious for bystanders because the walls are too high to be seen from outside the park. It’s very workable, and there are some vert sections.
Then there’s a flat section with steep ramps at both sides, and another at an odd angle that encourages aggressive riding. It’s not very well-designed but the locals get a lot out of it.
And there’s also a flat, narrow lane down the side of the bowl and snake run with a single ledge for street skating. It’s okay for a beginner but will quickly frustrate anyone else.
Cost/Requirements: ¥1,000 for 2 hours. Helmets are mandatory and you can borrow one for free.
